Restorative Dentistry

Fillings & Adhesive Dentistry

When a tooth is damaged by trauma or decay it may require a restoration (or filling). Our dentists will discuss with you the best techniques and materials to achieve restoration of your tooth to health and function.

Much of the time we are able to do this with adhesive (white) fillings to maximise aesthetics. All of our practitioners are experienced in adhesive dentistry and believe in a sensible, minimally invasive approach to restorations.

Prosthodontics

Protect & Strengthen

When teeth become damaged or weakened to the point where a filling may not work long term, it may be necessary to rebuild with a crown. These are mostly made of strong ceramics which protect and strengthen the underlying tooth while giving an excellent level of aesthetics.

We have a choice of techniques and materials which we can use to bring more heavily damaged teeth and lost teeth back to health. Your dentist will discuss with you which of these is most suitable for your particular case.

Endodontics

Root Canal Therapy

In the middle part of your tooth is the root canal which contains the living tissue you use to sense hot and cold. When this becomes infected or badly inflamed, root canal therapy is the best or sometimes even the only way to preserve your natural tooth.
All of our dentists are skilled in endodontic procedures in both front and back teeth, and for more complex cases we work closely with endodontic specialists.

Happily, although the term ‘root canal’ often conjures up negative associations, the procedure itself (especially in skilled hands) is usually painless and comfortable.

Sports Mouthguards

Mouth Protection

If you are playing a contact sport, a mouthguard is essential. A single sports injury to your teeth can result in the need for dental treatment over the course of a lifetime.

A well fitting, dentist-made mouthguard will protect your teeth (and the bone underneath) considerably more than the store bought variety.

Our laboratory technician can generally have the mouthguard ready to be picked up within a couple of days.
